Gary "Eric the Great" Erickson Athletic Scholarship

COLOR-nwc-trappers-logo.png

Gary Erickson was born with a basketball in his hands and basketball running through his blood.

He made a name for himself playing basketball at West High School in Salt Lake City, Utah. He injured his knee during a football game while in his senior year. Not knowing what his future would hold, months later he removed the cast and purchased a knee brace so he could finish his senior year of basketball. He would go on to average over 35 ppg and would score 1,538 varsity points. He attended Utah State and only played a couple of years because he continued to reinjure his knee.

Years later he was inducted into the West High Hall of Fame for his outstanding athletic accomplishments. His love for sports and basketball have been a big part of his life. He would continue to coach and support his children and grandchildren. We all know him as the funniest man in the room that enjoys life and is loved by all.
